I have several big MP3 files that I would like to split into smaller files but it seems when I split them my iPod and iTunes do not recognize the individual split files correctly. For example if I have a file that I would want to split into 10 parts my iPod and iTunes will recognize the files but they will only be named with the original filename. For example instead of being named file a1 file a2 file a3 etc. the files will be simply recognize as file a and the files are also not in the right order. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have an 8GB Sansa Fuze mp3 player that I've had for about a year and a half. As long as I've had it, it has worked just fine on my computer. Like an iPod, it connects to the pc through a USB port via a cord, after which I can open the folder and add/remove files. Recently, I have been unable to use it on my pc. For a long time, my computer wouldn't recognize it when I connected it to any of the USB ports. The pc would make the little tone indicating the presence of a USB device, but that was every it did. It did not prompt me to install hardware, nor did it open car-play. When I opened MY COMPUTER, it did not show that anything was connected. I later fixed this by going to the Device Manager and uninstalling the software. After this, I plugged in the mp3 player and it DID recognize it. The "Install New Hardware" Wizard showed up like it used to, and I clicked to install it. However, every time I do this, it says "This device cannot run (code10)." I tried reinstalling and uninstalling multiple times through different USB ports, but the same result happened each time. I have also tried restarting the computer. The problem is NOT with the mp3 player itself or its cord, because it works just fine on every other computers, just not mine. Nor is the problem with my USB ports, because every of my other devices work just fine, just not the Sansa Fuze. Does anybody know what the problem is, and how I might solve it? To the Evan moron who posted the answer about the media converter: You didn't even read my post, did you. Your answer had NOTHING to do with what I asked. Obliviously it would be a big difficult steer device (1TB), then it would need to have some nice of software interface to be able to select the movie you want and play it. nice of like an external difficult steer that plugs directly into your TV, with an interface.

Sup. I happen to have a HUGE amount of piracy, specially music (my library is truly remarkable), but also ripped TV shows, software and whatnot. I've never traveled abroad, so I don't know about this things. The thing is I might move abroad soon (to a first word country, where I know piracy can receive you into trouble) and I definitely want to take my bunch of DVDs with me. How can I take my files with me? I guess that by the sea (along with everything else we won't be able to receive on the plane), but considering it's illegal stuff, will I receive into trouble?

I was thinking of getting Threatfire (still deciding on it) as an extra layer of protection for my PC. I researched Threatfire and saw that it has "Real-time behavior based protection". What concerns me about Threatfire is that will it cause conflicts with anti-viruses or anti-threat software that has a "real-time protection" feature? I heard that Threatfire isn't supposed to clash with other antivirus software but I'm not really convinced about it. Also, does Threatfire work along side well with most Internet Security suites (paid and free). Does Threatfire have any gripes or issues I should look out for? I heard rumors that.... -Threatfire contains a keylogger. -Threatfire causes many people's keyboard to cease working. -It slows down your system or it could accident your system! Are some of these rumors true? Despite every these concerns, I still might receive Threatfire in the end but should I receive it or not? I have been with my boyfriend now since October, and while I understand that he is busy (he's finishing a degree in Software Engineering, and so has many assignments), I feel like he isn't communicating much anymore. He used to still text me even when he had crazy amounts of exam/assignments, and tell me he felt bad for not being more communicative. But in the past two weeks - he's been doing that opposite. It's hit or miss if he responds to my texts (I only text him every 2/3 days or so), which means we may go 4 or 5 days without talking - let alone seeing each other; besides this, there are no other problems or concerns in our relationship. I am overreacting if I tell him that he's being uncommunicative, even though he is busy? Or is it reasonable to expect him to at least respond?

So, I bought this new camera, Xacti CG10, and it records video in HD. The default video file when imported to the computer is MP4. MP4 will run on Windows Live Movie Maker, but this program is crap because it doesn't do anything. Then there is Camtasia, a very good video editing software, and it can't even open MP4's. I've tried the trial of Magix and they require to pay money to use MP4's and right now I'm getting Pinnacle Studio as my last ditch effort. This is a serious problem because nothing is working and my project is past it's due date (uh oh). I'll try format factory. I've already tried Pazera and many more though...

So..I've had this player for awhile now..But recently my mp3 player decided not to play about 400 songs on it possess. I could select the tune but it would go back to the main menu. These songs are in the right format and I had no problems listening to them before on the mp3 player and the rhapsody software. so I went through and deleted every of these songs, added some back..then they started working. When i hooked my mp3 player again to add some additional songs, it seemed to be working fine. However, afterwords when I listened every the tracks I just put on and the ones i put on before disappeared by themselves. Soooo I tried formatting the device. So now again with an empty device, I am trying to add songs but keep getting a GENERAL mistake. so my question is WHAT THE HELL.

I bought a G4 eMac a few years back and haven't used it much. I got it up and running again just to use for our ipods and downloading music. I tried the car updates but there is a problem with the updates that downloaded. I tried to do a manual update but I receive a message that I need OS 10.2.8 upgrade which is the patch that car updated. When I try to install 10.2.8 it tells me I already have that update installed. I'm not sure when I put the software that came with the Mac (might have lostit in a move) so I can't just start over without the disks, or can I?

Ive got a dell inspiron 1501 that is now just over 4 years old. In those last few years, i have used it at least an hour a day just about every day. A week ago this message just kept popping up saying something like the memory referenced at "_____" (im not sure what it said) could not be written. If i clicked it away it would just arrive right back. So i installed kaspersky security on my computer and now the message is gone but every time i close my computer to let it go into stand by or when the screen saver comes up, I cant run anything after i wake it back up. I move the mouse, it wakes up, i can log back on to my user, then it pretty much freezes completely. I can move the mouse but when i click on anything (including the start menu) nothing opens. The little light that says when its "thinking" flickers for a second then goes away, like it was doing something then just gave up. Anyone know what this is? Or what that message was before i installed kaspersky? Is the computer just getting old and somewhat on the back nine? My dad is a software engineer but he's not around to help for like a week and i need my computer. He said that I might just need to reinstall the OP and the device drivers. Would this work?

Okay, I've been at this for hours. I'm on my laptop right now (the one this new desktop was supposed to be replacing). We have a Netgear Router and have tried nearly everything to receive it up and running with this new computer. It has Windows 7 Home Premium in it. I keep getting the same mistake: the settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. We've tried restarting the router, clearing every the network connections in the new computer and connecting again but nothing works. It actually removed the software from the computer the router is hooked up to. After installing it again, nothing seems to be working, still. I'm getting very frustrated. What the hell is wrong with this? I hear many other people have had this problem. It's a Wireless LAN setup. No cables.

I am computer smart but am confused about setting up a server. I am going to buy a server (specifically from www.tigerdirect.com). I do not want to spend more than $900. I would like to have a raid set (preferably raid 1 or 2). I want to have good security so that no one can hack it and receive business files. I would like it to have every the difficult drives, operating system, and software every included in the package. I do not want to have to search for the right operating system and the right software. I would also like to be able to access my files from anywhere in the world from the web. Considering that most of my work is on the road. And I would also like to be able to have like 5 to 10 computers on the server.

i don't do any professional photography or anything, i'm 16, and whenever family or friends are over i'm always looking for a solid background to take "model-esque" or professional looking portraits and creative photos with.. so i was thinking about buying a cheap white background, but then i came across green screens that can be bought... i know you can change the background with it. and i just looked up that it does this when you tell your photo-editing software to remove the green in the picture; my question is, if someone is wearing green, will it remove it from their shirt as well as the background color? is it more practical to receive a white screen? or would it be smarter to receive a green screen because i can use it for more? thanks

It usually sits around 49C but that temperature climbs while below load. I just want to know if 49C is normal.

Dear friends, recently I got awarded a netbook by the government, it is a Eee Asus netbook with Edubuntu Operating System installed on it, Unfortunately I am running into ridiculous problems... I have had experience in the past with different editions of Linux OS but I can't say that I am a advanced user. My problem is that I can not configure anything in this laptop, I guess I got no administrative privileges, in fact I am not even asking for them, every I want is to manage to connect the netbook to my wireless router (gateway) and the message I receive asks for network-admin passwords, and this keeps repeating in every possible configuration, now I am really bored from this netbook, there is no difference if I have it or not...so I came up with the idea of installing a windows os on this netbook, but I do not want to delete the current OS because it is claimed to be a government property and I do not want to mess with it, Basically every I want is to use a windows os and have the Edubuntu but not access it at every To do this I will need a PARTITION MANAGING software and a BOOT MANAGING software, Can you tell me which are effective partition managing and boot managing softwares for Ubuntu (linux) or is there any other way to solve this problem? thank you for being patient and reading this question....god bless you thanks in advance Luckily I did realized that my username is called "user" and my password is the same so I can have little bit more privileges, but the issue is still the same, how do I manage to install a windows OS without deleting Ubuntu....btw I got a legal copy of WinOS

Lets start with a story: Earlier today, i was importing cd's to my itunes, since i have a different computer than i did when i bought them to start with. Anyway, i was importing a cd given to me by my singing teacher. When i first tried on the computer before, my computer started vibrating and got really noisy, but still imported the cd's and i hurried and took it out. No damage. Then today, when i was trying the same cd on the computer i am currently on, it did the same thing, but my whole screen froze and the cd would not eject. Then it got louder and louder and louder! So i held the power button down until it close down. Well later, i turned on my computer and immediately took the cd out, and thought nothing was wrong. Well, every time i try to play videos on youtube, or facebook, etc., my browser freezes, no matter if i'm using mozilla firefox or explorer. and now, almost every my programs are freezing. THE END OF MY STORY so whats wrong with my computer? please help! P.S.- my spyware software says i don't have any viruses, so i have no idea whats wrong! i already have the CD out of my computer, but MY COMPUTER is being a turd. its not the cd thats currently messing up my computer, it already messed up my computer and my computer is messed up!

i recently reformatted my Sony windows xp,i had sp3 and every was working perfectly fine, but now it does recognize my Ipod and when i got to start . my computer, property ,it doesn't even say what service pack i got so |m guessing its a sp0 . I recently installed my printer to my laptop. I downloaded every the drivers from the internet, and it installed successfully. The ink levels are close full (according to the software), and it will scan and copy documents perfectly fine, as well as print pages from the web, it just won't print documents from MS word. okay, so theres a lot of DOWNLOAD NOW things that say you download this software you can convert your myspace video to a file you can keep blah blah blah... wlel none of those work cause most of them only work with YOUTUBE VIDEOS! i dont want to convert a youtube video i want to convert a MYSPACE VIDEO! TO SOMETHING I CAN keep TO MY COMPUTER ( a file) a site where you simply take the URL of the video, copy and glue it in, click ONE BUTTON, and let the relax of it do its magic. I'm using Quicktax Online Edition to do my tiny business taxes. It's a videography business, and I wanted to deduct the equipment that I purchased - video camera, tripod, editing software, and smaller equipment. Is there a way to write these things off as an expense and not have to put them down as fixed assets that you only receive depreciation costs for over the course of multiple years? I bought some of the equipment used, so some of it only cost like $25, so it seems weird that the software is implying that I have to put down $25 as fixed assets that I dont' receive a regular deduction for. The only thing I bought that costs over $200 is the video camera which was around $900. So, can I put down the equipment, software, and some office furniture that every cost below $200 (Most below $80) as expenses. If I can't put the video camera down as a regular expense, how can I receive the most back this year. I'm doing my 2008 taxes, and had to upgrade to a high definition camera in 2009, so I barely use this camera anymore anyway. Please help.
