My mom took the tower to be cleaned because it was running very slowly. I downloaded some anti-virus software and then restarted the computer. We can't log in now because it asks for the owner's password. My mom claims that wasn't there when she got the tower back. Is there anything we can do to receive the password or receive past it? We've already tried booting in safe mode, but it still asks for a password. I downloaded avast and removed some start-up programs using msconfig, then restarted it. And I tried typing in password and guest as passwords with no luck.

Please , I need help. I was using my GPD Memory Card in my Camera when I accidently formatted the Card... My iPhone is not working after i updated the OS? My iPhone is the first gen type. I did not have it on a jail break and i bought it from the US. so techinically, the iPhone doesnt have any apps. Then my itunes asked if i want to update my OS and i said yes and it installed the update. After which, i clicked on my iPhone and saw just the "emergency call" option and it won't open to the homepage! would this still be fixed by MAC stores? How? Or is there any other way to fix this? I repeat, i did not have it on a jailbreak so techinically..because some say that when you had ur iPhone on a jailbreak and updated its software, it's doomed forever and it can no longer be used.. Hi there. I just bought an sd card reader and a couple of SD cards {sandisk 2GB} First of every i have trouble most of the time getting my pc to recognise it '' please insert a disk into steer e'' I have to remove the card reader and card then plug back in, somtimes in different combinations, other times iv just reset windows and it picks it up. I also cant format it in win xp either, through my computer OR disk managemnt in admin tools. Iv resorted to using panasonic sd formatter. And using that i cant only do a quick format, anything else and errors ensue. When i do receive into it and try to transfer some files onto it i again receive various errors ''armboot.bin.. cannot copy {file}'' the parameter is incorrect''..... ''cannot copy {file} : The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable'' Also got quite a few CRC errors too. And a couple of others which i cant recall.... i did a google on but everyone just suggests formatting ... at best. Didnt find many answers. I seem to be able to receive some files on it, like tiny single ones, but not folders. Could my card reader have like a bad connection and is breaking up in the middle of transfering the larger files ? From what iv given, does that sound like problems that would happen with a needy/faulty card reader? Like a hardware problem, or is it more of a software problem? I think i read somewhere that some readers cant read at 2GB and up ? Its just a really cheap 'elonex' one i got from beay, for £1.59 lol.. i thought a cheapo one would do the trick, for every it is u know? Seems i may be wrong. hey guys i'm a web developer and i'm want to learn app and software development and those kinda stuff :D so I downloaded python 2.5.4 because i wanna import pygame, and pygame didn't work except for that version on my pc (xp - 32) anyway I started learning and it's so easy and I don't have a problem with python itself, when I keep it .py and run it, it runs but if i go to my desktop and double click on my project, it opens up in adobe acrobat :D (it doesn't work of course :P) and if i go to pick program, I can't open it in any software (maybe I can but i don't know) if I pick to open it in pythonw or rnx file processor it opens in real player :D it's driving me crazy :D could you please with what do you open file.py?

Okay... Though I am posting on my nephews Email, I wanted to ask professionals / people with experience... On how I should go about upgrading my Anti Virus Software. Co-workers recommended I upgrade to AVG 9.0 Internet Security, and I'm starting to believe them. I have some viruses on my computer and i'm awaiting for my external difficult steer to arrive in before I re-format it. When installing AVG 9.0. Do I install it first, then activate it, etc; and then move onto uninstalling AVG 8.5? Here's what im asking: When installing 9.0, do i keep 8.5? and one 9.0 is ready for use, may i remove 8.5 or do i keep my PC vulnerable and uninstall 8.5 THEN install 9.0?

Hi :) Right so, I've had sims 3 a year and didn't like it when I first got it so I uninstalled it, then a couple of months ago I re-installed it and it worked fine until yesterday!, so I was wondering if anyone can help as I REALLY want to fix it pretty soon! I know how to launch the game without the launcher but I'd prefer that the game would work fine and be straightforward! And to be blunt I don't want to download anything AT every, but I want someone that knows how to fix it, and not someone that is experiencing the same problem. And btw I have un-installed and re-installed the software and it still dosen't work and I don't think I need to update my computer as it has always worked fine!!! I would like to update my iPod Touch 3G MC model currently running on 3.1.3 to the new iOS4 software. BUT, iTunes only gives me the option of updating to the very newest software, which is 4.0.2. I do not want to update to 4.0.2 as only the 4.0 and 4.0.1 softwares can be jailbroken. So is there a way to update to 4.0 / 4.0.1 ? If so, how do i do it? If I can only update to 4.0.2, then i might as well stay with my current 3.1.3 as its jailbroken now already.. But just wondering if i can, thanks! (=

I recently recieved my Dad's old computer, and it's got a bunch of stuff on it, so i was wondering if anyone knew how to reset the computer so that it's as if just arrive out of the box (albeit, arrive out of the box every scratches and chipped)? I need help looking for software that will allow me to do the following. I need to be able to measure the distance and object moves on a video file. I need it for a research project. i want to use bluetooth between two devices, one of which is my laptop. but when i went to look for bluetooth software on the computer, i couldn't find it. i have the bluetooth hardware built into my computer and used to have the software for it but my comp crashed a few years ago and haven't seen it since. it is definitely not of there anymore cause i have done everything i can to find it and i wouldn't have any idea where a cd would be that has the stuff on it. does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? thanks :)

I have a laptop with XP and it has Microsoft Office 2003 which I use to run. I have many documents that were in 2003 Word, powerpoint ect form. I recently downloaded a free trial for the 2010 Office service. When I oppened documents it came of the new 2010 format and I did create some new docs using 2010. Now the trial has expired and I uninstalled it. I no longer have access to Word at every and the icons no longer have a word picture. I have to manually pick what to open the doc with and no word appears. Is there a way to recover this or can I do one of those system restores? I have heard of what they do. Would this help?? Thanks

Hi every, can someone help me pls, I know how to format a pc and how to reinstill windows, but this time it´s being a pain.. I have used partition magic to format the steer, then I have loaded the basic drivers from a bootup disk. Now I have loaded win95 as its the only one i have that i can use with a blank difficult steer, Ok it loads on but when it´s complete it tells me that something is missing and it is safe to turn off your pc. I also have tryed loading win 3.1 yer 3.1 this also gets to the end and it tells me to type in win at the dos screen, but fails to load up. What is the name given to the type of software I can run in dos mode as my xp will not run from the start.. Now I have a linux disk, but never used it, do I need a bootup disk and if so where from.. If you need anymore info just pls ask, and thx in advance ok this may sound stupid, I have have got linux on the system, how the hell do i load thgs on, its askin for file type and shit.... or can i over right the lot and put wondows over the top of it.. pls help I have never used linux b4, thx in advance

What is the difference between email marketing software and service??? I need to send email blasts to a database of around 15,000 previous customers/guests. But i want more than just to be able to send an email i want it to perhaps have good design templates/wizards, mail open reports and stuff like that. I have never done this before, it has always been an IT guy who has written some program for me, every i had to do was draft the email and provide the database. But now I am running my possess company and don't have an IT department I need to do it myself now. Any help and advice would be great... By the way I have been told about YMLP... are they any good? It says "The exception unknown software exception...occurred in the application at location..." It shows up when I receive to the login screen (I'm running Windows XP SP3) and whether I click OK, Cancel, or the X in the corner it restarts the computer. If leave it alone I can still log in but I have to leave the mistake message up because if i click any of the options it will restart the computer. What should I do? It's irritating and not good, I assume.

I've no idea about how to install just about anything that is not in the software manager, I've looked everywhere on the net and I cannot find an instructions guide for KTorrent 4.0.3 I ask to please do not send me to a link to a site explaining how to install programs in Linux unless it expressly talks about this program and explains it step by step, nice of like a dummy guide for dummies but more like for zombie dummies, Which is actually the way I intend for you to answer. Every time I try to burn a DVD-R it goes through the process but doesn't write anything to the disc. Is there a specific software I could use? This is really annoying. So when I plug in my itouch (2nd generation) it usually takes a really long time to back it up. But eventually it finishes. But when I want to update my iPod (the fourth version update or like the iPod 4.0 update or whatever it's called) it starts to back up my itouch then it freezes! I have cancelled then retried like more than 10 or 11 times. And it frezzes EVERY time. Please help me. I have no idea what do to. Thank you :D

I used to work with a guy and he was arrested in May 2009 as a suspected paedophile, sick I know! He is in court, I'm not absolutely sure of the charge as yet but I do know his computer was siezed and they couldn't receive onto his external hardrive as it was encrypted using some sort of software. He also used a 40-50 character long password. He was below no obligation to give the password to the police until December 2009, when a judge told him he had 21 days to disclose the password, by then the guy claims he has forgot it, despite entering it every single day for 5 months straight, since he put the password on the software in January 2009. My questions are; What is the sentence for failing to disclose a password? If this is not the charge what could it be? Thanks

I have an acer netbook and I want to completely wipe the difficult steer, it came with disk and was wondering if that would reinstall window xp, or if I would have to receive one from acer. It says "Microsoft windows xp home edition sp3 for distribution only with a new acer pc" it also says "software included on this DVD was reinstalled on your difficult steer at the factory and may only be used for backup and recovery of your acer computer system". So if I got an external disk steer and wiped my computer would this disk reinstall windows for me.

i've cleaned out my iPod 2 days ago, and added a new playlist with some tunes in there. now when i go to sync my ipod, it goes and syncs it, but it stops. i tried resetting my iPod, and it didn't help with the sync. now today, i uninstalled iTunes 9 and got iTunes 10 and tried syncing it again. it still stops halfway. im now updating my iPod software to version 4. it is taking forever. what's going on here?? is there a problem with my iPod or with iTunes?

Ok, I have changed the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9 but I am still getting black bars on either side of my pictures that I add to my movie. 16:9 does make my images wider but not so it fits into the youtube screen once I publish it. (Still black bars) I tried re-sizing my images on a online image re-sizer as I thought by making them bigger in width and height would make them fit perfectly onto the screen so the dreaded black bars would not make it look crap. This still didn't work, I mean even by resizing just one image into 3 different sizes (big, bigger, and very big) they still looked the same size in WMM AND on Youtube. How the hell do I make it take up the whole of the screen? Should I download some image altering software and try stretching them? Any advice/help would be appreciated, thankyou. CJ

My laptop has been infected with the anti-malware doctor virus and because of this I cannot access anything on my laptop including the internet and every my files including a uni assignment I need for monday. I know not to install the so called anti virus software as its the scam. So what I am wondering if how can I remove the anti-walware doctor virus from my laptop without being able to access the net from it every the info i looked up included downloading programs onto my laptop and going from there but i cant do that as i cant access the net from it. I know some online web proxys but neither of them support java, i know there were some java supported proxys online some closed and some i dont remember. Long story short I couldn't handle the workload for Diploma of Networking at Tafe so I must drop out in Oct. I got further than I thought though, I passed CCNA 1,2 and 3 but had trouble finishing the assignments on time. I didn't hate the course but I didn't adore it either, but what I think I got out of the course was my studying habits improved a lot throughout the course but not enough to keep up with the course. What I want to try is a programming course so I can receive a taste of what it's like and look if it's right for me. My skill in programming is not that great but my interest began when I was 15, I have learned basics of VB and Game maker in H.S. and self-thought some basics of HTML and BYOND. I also gave a thought about what area of IT I'm into and I'm interested in programming software or games and or perhaps websites/apps. Unfortunately I don't have the requirement to do a Uni course, I briefly looked up 'Alternative pathways' and this is what I found(not sure if there's more): 1. Do QTAC and pass English(I didn't pass ENG in H.S) 2. Do Diploma of IT at Uni (which teaches some programming, Maths, Business etc.) 3. Do Cert IV of networking in Oct and take Diploma of networking again next year What's best for me? To apply for Cert IV of networking in Oct or do a Uni Diploma programming course. I'm worried that if I end up not liking the programming course I would be wasting my time. And I'ts also an advantage for me to do the Tafe Diploma as I would have less things to do because I'm currently still attending Diploma of networking and have passed CCNA 3 and done some assignments.
